Getting Started

How do I get started with PicTranslate.dev?

Simply sign up for a free account, upload an image, select your source and target languages, and click translate. You'll get 30 free credits to test the service.

What image formats are supported?

We support JPEG, PNG and WebP formats.

How accurate is the translation?

We're really proud of the quality our AI delivers! However, image translation is a bit of a tricky task. Handling different font sizes and ensuring they fit naturally within the original structure compared to the source text has its challenges, and sometimes we might not get things perfectly right. While we strive for the best, factors like super blurry images or really complex layouts (or even vertical text, but we’re actively working on it!) can make it a bit challenging. We're always working to improve and we're genuinely committed to making this product the best it can be!

How fast is the translation?

Our service utilizes AI for contextual translations which takes longer than word for word translations! Translation time is influenced by the image size and the volume of text as our AI processes content for understanding before translation.

Languages & Translation

Which languages are supported?

We support 40 languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Hindi, and many more. You can view the full list of supported languages in our documentation.

Can I translate between any two languages?

Yes, you can translate between any combination of our supported languages. Some language pairs may have higher accuracy than others.

Do you support automatic source language detection and just passing in a target language?

Not yet, but we're actively working on it! We know how convenient that would be, and our team is busy developing and integrating a language detection model to make that flow possible in the future. For now, to get the highest accuracy, we recommend you specify the source language. But rest assured, automatic detection is definitely on our roadmap and something we're excited to offer soon!

Billing & Credits

How does the credit system work?

Each image translation costs 1 credit. Credits never expire and can be used at any time.

What payment methods do you accept?

We securely process payments through Stripe.

Can I get a refund?

We offer refunds within 7 days of purchase if you're not satisfied with the service. 100% of your credits will be refunded.

Do you offer volume discounts?

Yes, we offer custom pricing for high-volume users. Contact us for volume discounts.

Security & Privacy

Do you store my images?

Nope, we don't! Your images are processed and then automatically deleted from our systems within 24 hours. We absolutely never store or use your images for training purposes.

Where are your servers located?

Our servers are securely hosted in Europe (specifically Germany 🇩🇪). This means your data is processed and handled entirely within European data centers, adhering to strict EU privacy regulations.
